Treat the Church as Family
The household theme of 3:15 becomes practical. Older men are approached as fathers, younger men as brothers, older women as mothers, and younger women as sisters. Correction remains possible, but relationships are governed by familial honor rather than humiliation.
The phrase “with all purity” particularly guards relationships with younger women. In a letter concerned with public reputation and healthy households, spiritual family language does not erase embodied responsibilities; it heightens them. The church is meant to become a place where age, sex, and authority are handled with honor, restraint, and genuine kinship under God.
