The Sabbath – A Sign of Covenant Rest
As God concluded His instructions to Moses, He placed deep emphasis on one command in particular—the Sabbath. “Above all,” He said, “you must observe My Sabbaths.” This wasn’t just a day of rest; it was a covenantal sign between God and Israel, an eternal reminder that it is the Lord who sanctifies them.
The Sabbath was a holy pause, a sacred space in time set apart not only for physical rest but for spiritual realignment. God’s people were to step away from their labor to remember the One who had delivered them from Egypt, who had created the heavens and the earth, and who alone could make them holy.
