I Have Come Down to Rescue Them
As Moses stood barefoot on holy ground, trembling in awe before the burning bush, the voice of the Lord continued—this time with a message not just for Moses, but for a suffering nation. “I have indeed seen the misery of My people in Egypt,” God said. “I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering.”
What follows is one of the most beautiful and profound declarations in all of Scripture: “So I have come down to rescue them.” This is not a God detached or indifferent. This is a God who sees, hears, feels—and moves. The divine heart is not far off in the heavens but near to the broken, close to the cry of the oppressed. His concern births action.
