In Wisdom Hast Thou Made Them All
Moon, sun, darkness, animals, sea life, and human work all operate within God’s ordering care. Creatures depend on Him for food and breath; when He sends His spirit or breath, life is renewed. Later Christian theology of the Spirit can resonate with this language, but the Hebrew term’s immediate function in the poem is God’s life-giving breath/spirit within creation.
Proverbs says the LORD founded the earth by wisdom, while Psalm 104 marvels that all God’s works were made in wisdom. Both passages present creation as ordered by divine wisdom rather than chance or rival cosmic powers, making the correspondence direct and theologically important.
