Passage Overview · Free · Leviticus 26:17
Escalating Covenant Curses: Disease, Defeat, Drought, Beasts, Sword, and Famine
Where this fits in the story: Covenant sanctions answer the blessing/obedience frame of 26:1–13.
Where Scripture takes it next: Galatians 3 speaks of “the curse of the law,” but Paul's explicit prooftexts are Deuteronomy 27:26 and 21:23—not Leviticus 26.
Evidence boundary: Do not label each curse as a timeless personal formula (“disobey and God will make you sick/poor”). The sanctions are covenantal/corporate and land-centered.
