Prayer and the Ambassador in Chains

The call to stand continues through prayer: pray at every opportunity in the Spirit, stay alert with perseverance, intercede for all the saints, and pray for Paul so that words will be given to him to proclaim the gospel mystery boldly. Paul calls himself an ambassador in chains—an arresting combination of delegated authority and visible weakness.

Where this fits in the story: spiritual warfare is not presented as fascination with demons but as steadfast gospel faithfulness, truth, righteousness, faith, salvation, Scripture, and communal prayer. The imprisoned apostle asks not first for release but for courage to speak.
