Boast Not of Tomorrow
Tomorrow is uncertain, so self-boasting is foolish and praise is best left to another. Anger can be heavy, but envy is harder to face, and true friendship may wound honestly while an enemy’s kisses can be abundant and deceptive.
Proverbs warns not to boast about tomorrow because one does not know what a day will bring; James rebukes confident plans about tomorrow and insists “if the Lord will.”
