The Day of the LORD: His Feet on the Mount of Olives and the Holy Ones with Him
Zechariah’s final chapter begins with Jerusalem plundered and nations gathered against it. Then the LORD himself goes out to fight. His feet stand on the Mount of Olives east of Jerusalem, the mountain splits to create a great valley, the people flee as they once fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah, and the LORD comes ‘and all the saints/holy ones with thee.’
Where Scripture takes it next: Acts 1 places Jesus’ ascension on the Mount of Olives and promises his return; 1 Thessalonians 3:13 speaks of the Lord Jesus coming ‘with all his saints/holy ones.’ That is a major YHWH-to-Christ canonical trajectory, though neither NT text quotes every topographic detail of Zechariah 14.
