Peace in the House and the LORD Who Tests Hearts
A little food with peace is better than abundance with strife. The LORD tests hearts as a furnace tests metal, mocking the poor insults their Maker, and family generations can become mutual crowns; wisdom values a truthful, peaceful household more than display.
Proverbs says the LORD tests hearts as a furnace refines metal; Psalm 66 says God proves his people and tries them as silver is tried. Both use refining imagery to portray testing as exposure, purification, and revelation of character under divine scrutiny.
