Humility, Prayer, Reproof, and the Fear of the LORD
The LORD opposes pride and protects the vulnerable, rejects corrupt gain and evil thoughts, but hears the righteous. The chapter ends where Proverbs repeatedly returns: listening to life-giving reproof produces understanding, and the fear of the LORD teaches wisdom while humility precedes honor.
Proverbs closes with humility before honor and the fear of the LORD as wisdom’s instruction; Peter calls believers to humility because God gives grace to the humble and to humble themselves under God’s hand.
