The LORD will show who belongs to him
Korah and 250 leaders challenge the authority of Moses and especially Aaron’s priesthood. Their slogan contains a truth—YHWH’s congregation is holy—but uses it to erase roles YHWH himself assigned. Moses answers that YHWH will show who belongs to him and who may approach the sanctuary.
2 Timothy 2:19 cites the Korah-crisis declaration that the Lord knows those who are his, adapting the Greek wording of Numbers 16:5 and applying it to the threat of false teachers.
