Bind My Commandments upon Thy Fingers
The son is told to treasure, bind, write, and treat wisdom as close family. This internalized wisdom is not abstract spirituality; it is protection against a persuasive voice that would otherwise redirect desire and judgment.
Proverbs tells the son to keep commands, write them on the heart, and bind them closely, strongly echoing Deuteronomy’s command to keep God’s words on the heart and bind them as a sign.
