Get Wisdom: A Father Passes On the Teaching
A father remembers receiving instruction from his own father and now hands it to the next generation. Wisdom is not treated as disposable advice but as an inherited way of life: get wisdom, keep it, love it, and let it shape the kind of person who can be honored rather than destroyed by folly.
Proverbs’ father-to-son transmission of received wisdom grows naturally within Deuteronomy’s command that covenant words be stored in the heart and taught diligently to children. Household instruction becomes covenant continuity.
