Life Fills the Sea and Sky
God fills sea and sky with living creatures and gives the first explicit blessing in the chapter: fruitfulness and multiplication. Genesis 8:17 repeats that blessing as animals leave the ark. Judgment has devastated creation, but God renews His purpose for a living world.\n\nZephaniah 1:2–3 uses the creature-filled world in a different way: judgment sweeps through humanity, beasts, birds, and fish. The same creature groups that display creation’s abundance can therefore become part of Scripture’s imagery of creation reversed under judgment.
