The LORD’s Name Praised from Sunrise to Sunset
Psalm 113 begins the Egyptian Hallel with a universal summons to praise the LORD’s name from east to west and through all time. Its global scope coheres naturally with the NT mission to the nations, but the verse itself is a hymn summons rather than a direct prophecy of Christian worship.
Psalm 113 and Malachi use the striking horizon “from the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same” in connection with the LORD’s name being praised or made great. The shared wording gives the comparison real interpretive weight.
