The Glory of the LORD Returns from the East
The glory that departed eastward in chapters 10–11 now returns from the east with the sound of many waters and fills the temple. Ezekiel falls on his face as God declares this the place of his throne among Israel; the reversal makes restored divine presence the true climax of the architectural vision.
Presence / covenant lens: Ezekiel’s restoration reaches its theological climax when the glory that departed eastward returns from the east and fills the temple. How Ezekiel 40–48 maps onto postexilic history, Christ, the church, a future millennium, and new creation is genuinely disputed; the glory-return itself is not.
