Jehoiakim condemned for injustice
Jeremiah names the failures of Judah’s kings. Shallum will die in exile and never see the land again; Jehoiakim builds his house by unrighteousness, exploits labor, and pursues dishonest gain rather than defending the poor and needy. Royal splendor without covenant justice is exposed as false kingship.
