From Death to Life by Grace
Paul begins with humanity dead in trespasses and sins, walking according to the age of this world, the ruler of the power of the air, and the desires of the flesh. The turn comes with “But God”: rich in mercy and great in love, God makes believers alive with Christ, raises them with him, and seats them with him in the heavenly places. Salvation is by grace through faith, not from works, yet the saved are God’s workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works.
Where this fits in the story: creation language and death-to-life language converge. Grace does not merely improve the old life; God creates a people for a new way of walking.
