Passage Overview · Free · Jeremiah 49:7–10
Judgment on Ammon and Edom
Ammon is condemned for occupying Gad’s inheritance and trusting in treasures and the god Malcam, yet receives a closing restoration promise. The oracle then turns to Edom: famed wisdom and rocky security cannot save it. Edom’s pride will be brought down, and its fall is pictured with both Sodom-like devastation and an eagle descending on prey.
