Kept by the Power of God unto Salvation
Peter begins with blessing because the resurrection of Jesus has created a living hope. New birth leads to an inheritance described with three negatives—incorruptible, undefiled, unfading—while believers themselves are being guarded by God through faith for a salvation still awaiting full revelation. The passage therefore holds present and future together: resurrection has already changed their identity, yet the inheritance remains ahead. Israel’s inheritance vocabulary is transformed around resurrection and the last-time salvation of God’s people.
