Eliakim Receives the Key and the Weight of the House
Isaiah 22:20–25 is a distinct movement within Isaiah’s oracles concerning the nations and the wider world. It centers on Eliakim Receives the Key and the Weight of the House. In Isaiah’s own horizon, the LORD is shown ruling not only Judah but the nations, history, death, and the future kingdom. This unit shows how the book sets human pride, false refuge, or covenant failure against the LORD’s holiness, judgment, saving action, and promised restoration. Later canonical uses are explained separately: explicit New Testament interpretation is labeled explicit, while echoes, trajectories, and foreshadowing are kept at their proper evidence level.
