The Empty Tomb and the Risen Jesus
At dawn on the first day of the week, the women encounter an angel, an opened tomb, and the announcement: “He is not here: for he is risen.” On their way to tell the disciples, Jesus himself meets them; they grasp his feet and worship.
Where this fits in the story: the Gospel’s death/life trajectory reaches its reversal. Jesus’ repeated resurrection predictions are vindicated, and worship language previously offered to him now surrounds the risen Messiah.
Where Scripture takes it next: apostolic proclamation across the New Testament makes Jesus’ resurrection the decisive divine vindication and beginning of new-creation hope.
