Despised and Mocked, Yet Cast upon God from Birth
The sufferer is despised, mocked, and challenged to let the LORD rescue him. At the same time, he remembers having depended on God from birth. The combination of public scorn and stubborn trust drives the lament deeper.
The crucifixion narratives deliberately echo this section: mockers around Jesus challenge the one who trusted God to be delivered. The correspondence is very strong, especially in Matthew 27:43, even though that verse is not introduced as a formal quotation of Psalm 22:7–8. This belongs in a high-confidence Passion echo category.
