The immediate question is Gentile salvation and inclusion, not a declaration that Jewish believers must abandon Torah. The four prohibitions have debated backgrounds—Leviticus 17–18 is a serious proposal; later Noahide-law comparisons are possible context but not an explicit source. The Amos quotation follows the Greek textual tradition in important ways.

Jesus / canonical connection: James uses Amos 9’s restored Davidic tent and the nations seeking the Lord to explain the Gentile ingathering. Retain as strong Davidic-restoration trajectory with the explicit/non-explicit boundary visible.

Test the tradition: The Jerusalem Council abolished the Torah for Jewish followers of Jesus. A careful reading should reject blanket 'Torah abolished for Jews' wording; explain the council’s Gentile-salvation/inclusion question precisely.
