Naaman’s Skin Disease and the Servant Girl’s Faith
Naaman’s cleansing and confession begin with an Israelite servant’s witness and a humbling command at the Jordan. Naaman’s story deliberately overturns status expectations: a famous foreign commander must listen to an Israelite servant girl, a prophet’s messenger, and his own servants before he receives cleansing. Jesus later names this event explicitly in Luke 4, making it one of 2 Kings’ clearest New Testament connections.
