Satan Falls, Names Are Written in Heaven, and the Father Reveals the Son
The returning missionaries rejoice that demons submit in Jesus’ name. Jesus responds with the image of Satan falling from heaven, assures them of authority over the enemy, but redirects their deepest joy toward their names being written in heaven. He then rejoices in the Holy Spirit and speaks of the Father’s revelation of the Son.
Where this fits in the story: kingdom mission has an unseen-realm dimension, but spiritual power is not to become the disciple’s identity trophy. Belonging to God is deeper than successful ministry.
