Women Travel with Jesus and Sustain the Kingdom Mission
Luke pauses to name women who travel with Jesus and the Twelve and support the mission from their resources, including Mary Magdalene, Joanna, and Susanna. This is not incidental background. Luke deliberately records women as participants, patrons, disciples, and later resurrection witnesses.
Where this fits in the story: the infancy narrative has already given major interpretive voices to Elizabeth, Mary, and Anna. Luke continues foregrounding people whose testimony and service ancient status systems could undervalue.
