A Daughter Healed by Faith in the Crowd
As Jesus travels to help Jairus’s dying daughter, a woman who has suffered bleeding for twelve years touches his garment believing she will be healed. Her bleeding stops, but Jesus brings the hidden act into the open and addresses her personally: “Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.”
Where this fits in the story: Levitical law helps explain why prolonged bleeding affected ritual status, but Mark’s emphasis is on Jesus’ restoring power and the woman’s desperate trust. The story is deliberately interwoven with Jairus’s daughter: one female sufferer has endured twelve years, while the other is twelve years old.
