Jesus Cleanses the Man and Sends Him to the Priest
A man described with leprosy-language approaches Jesus, kneels, and says that Jesus can make him clean if he wills. Jesus touches him, cleanses him, and orders him to show himself to the priest and offer what Moses commanded. The healed man instead spreads the report so widely that Jesus can no longer enter towns openly.
Where this fits in the story: Leviticus gives priests responsibility to examine serious skin afflictions and provides a restoration process after cleansing. Mark’s point is not that Torah disappears; Jesus sends the man into the Mosaic verification and offering process. Yet the direction of power is striking: contact with the unclean does not render Jesus helpless—cleansing moves outward from him.
