The Dawning Light — Creation, Christ, and New Creation
Genesis 1:1–5 begins with God as Creator. When God says, “Let there be light,” light appears, He separates it from darkness, and He calls the light good. Notice the repeated action: God speaks, and what He commands takes place.
John 1:1–5 deliberately begins, “In the beginning,” and speaks again about creation, life, light, and darkness. John adds what Genesis does not explicitly name here: the Word through whom all things were made. John 1:14 says the Word was made flesh, and John 1:17 names Jesus Christ.
