The God of the Fathers Glorified His Servant Jesus

Acts 3:11–16 centers on the god of the fathers glorified his servant jesus. The astonished crowd gathers at Solomon’s Porch. Peter immediately denies that personal power or holiness caused the healing and identifies Israel’s ancestral God as the one who glorified his Servant Jesus—the one denied and killed, whom God raised. Faith in Jesus’ name explains the man’s restoration.

The wider biblical story comes into focus here. The titles 'Servant,' 'Holy and Righteous One,' and 'Author/Prince of life' gather Israel’s scriptural vocabulary around Jesus. The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is not replaced; Peter presents the resurrection as the action of Israel’s covenant God.
