Walk Worthy: One Body, One Spirit, One Lord
The letter’s great “therefore” begins the ethical half: Paul urges believers to walk worthily of their calling with humility, gentleness, patience, and loving forbearance, eagerly guarding the unity given by the Spirit. Seven “one” statements confess one body, Spirit, hope, Lord, faith, baptism, and one God and Father.
Where this fits in the story: the unity described in chapter 2 must become visible in the community’s life. Unity is not sameness and is not manufactured by force; it is a Spirit-given reality that believers are commanded to preserve.
Where Scripture takes it next: the one body does not erase diversity. The ascended Christ distributes grace and gives people to equip the saints so the whole body grows toward maturity.
