Fire, Glory, and the Temple Dedication
2 Chronicles 7:1–10 forms the movement “Fire, Glory, and the Temple Dedication.” When Solomon finishes praying, fire comes down and consumes the offerings, and the glory of the LORD fills the house. The people bow and praise God's enduring mercy. Solomon and the people dedicate the temple with an enormous offering and keep the feast with joy before returning home.
In the book’s larger argument, God answers Solomon with glory, covenant mercy, and a warning: repentance matters, but temple privilege does not make apostasy safe.
