Paul refuses hidden or deceptive handling of God’s word. If the gospel is veiled, the problem lies with those whose minds the god of this age has blinded so that they do not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is God’s image. Paul then reaches back to creation: the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness has shone in hearts so that God’s glory is known in the face of Jesus Christ.
