Jesus Is Arrested, Abandoned, and Condemned

Judas arrives with an armed crowd and identifies Jesus with a kiss. One bystander strikes the high priest’s servant, but Jesus points to the Scriptures and submits to arrest. All the disciples flee; a young man following Jesus escapes naked. Before the council witnesses give conflicting testimony until the high priest asks directly whether Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Blessed. Jesus answers and declares that they will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of Power and coming with the clouds of heaven.
