Severe Covenant Judgment: Cannibalism, Desolation, Land Sabbath, and Exile

The terrifying curse imagery does not remain theoretical. Later biblical writers remember siege cannibalism—and Chronicles explicitly says exile made the land keep its missed Sabbaths.

Where this fits in the story: Leviticus 25's land Sabbath becomes an explicit judgment mechanism: exile/desolation lets the land finally rest.

Where Scripture takes it next: No NT writer directly identifies a specific event as the exclusive fulfillment of all Leviticus 26 curse stages.
