Romans 10:5 explicitly quotes Leviticus 18:5. Scholars debate whether Paul contrasts law-doing with faith, reads Torah within a redemptive-historical transition, or sees Leviticus 18:5 itself as faith-shaped covenant life.

Galatians 3:12 explicitly quotes Leviticus 18:5: “The man that doeth them shall live in them.” The quotation is certain, while the precise way Paul sets it in relation to faith remains debated.

Nehemiah repeats Leviticus’ principle that the person who does God’s judgments will “live in them,” showing the Torah’s life-through-obedience formula still functioning in postexilic covenant confession. The wording is close enough to be a near-direct verbal reuse of Leviticus 18:5.

Acts 15 prohibits Gentile believers from things polluted by idols, sexual immorality, strangled meat, and blood. Many interpreters see a strong background in Leviticus 17–18, where resident aliens as well as Israelites are addressed in clustered rules about sacrifice, blood, and sexual conduct. The correspondence is serious but debated because the council never names Leviticus 17–18 as its source.
