Purpose and Summary of Discharge Laws
Leviticus 15 finally tells us why bodily impurity matters to the sanctuary: Israel must not defile God's dwelling. The very next chapter answers that problem with the Day of Atonement—and Hebrews later builds its Christology on that sanctuary system.
Where this fits in the story: Leviticus 10:10 establishes the priestly clean/unclean distinction; Chapters 11–15 operationalize it across food, bodies, tzaraat, and flows.
Where Scripture takes it next: Hebrews 9 interprets sanctuary purification and restricted access primarily through the Day of Atonement. The disciplined canonical route is therefore Leviticus 15:31 → Leviticus 16 → Hebrews 9, not a forced direct Leviticus 15 → Hebrews relationship.
