2 Corinthians 3:6 — Ministers of the New Covenant
Paul’s confidence is through Christ, and his sufficiency comes from God. God has made him a minister of a new covenant—not merely an external written code, but the life-giving work of the Spirit. The contrast belongs to Paul’s covenant argument and should not be turned into a slogan against careful reading of Scripture.
Paul calls himself and his coworkers “ministers of the new testament,” then contrasts letter and Spirit, developing Jeremiah’s promised new-covenant transformation in apostolic ministry.
