A Little Folly Can Spoil Much Wisdom
A few dead flies can ruin costly perfume, and a little folly can damage a reputation built through wisdom. Qoheleth then contrasts the settled orientation of wise and foolish hearts and counsels calmness when a ruler becomes angry. The point is practical: small acts can have disproportionate effects, especially where reputation and power are involved. Wisdom does not merely possess correct ideas; it knows how to respond without making a tense situation worse.
