The LORD Is Near to All Who Call upon Him
The King is praised for lifting the fallen, feeding creatures, drawing near to those who call in truth, preserving those who love him, and judging wickedness. Universal provision and covenant nearness converge. The psalm ends with all flesh summoned to bless the holy name forever.
Philippians 4:5–6 says “the Lord is at hand” and immediately turns to prayer. Psalm 145:18–19 says the LORD is near to those who call on him and hears their cry, supplying a strong Old Testament nearness-and-prayer background for Paul’s exhortation.
