A Passover Kept According to the Book of Moses
2 Chronicles 35:7–19 forms the movement “A Passover Kept According to the Book of Moses.” Josiah, his officials, and Levite leaders provide animals for the Passover. Priests and Levites carry out the service, singers and gatekeepers remain at their stations, and the people keep Passover and Unleavened Bread. Chronicles emphasizes conformity to the written law and says no Passover like it had been kept since Samuel's days.
In the book’s larger argument, Josiah’s exemplary Passover is followed by his death at Megiddo after ignoring a warning that Chronicles says came from God through Pharaoh Neco.
