The Celebration of Passover
2 Chronicles 30:13–22 forms the movement “The Celebration of Passover.” A very large crowd gathered in Jerusalem to celebrate the Feast of Unleavened Bread. They removed the altars in Jerusalem and threw them into the Kidron Valley. The Passover lamb was slaughtered on the fourteenth day of the second month, and the priests and Levites, who had been ashamed, consecrated themselves. Some of the people were ceremonially unclean and ate the Passover contrary to the law, but Hezekiah prayed for them, asking the Lord to pardon those who set their hearts on seeking Him. The Lord heard Hezekiah and healed the people. The Israelites in Jerusalem celebrated with great joy for seven days, with Levites and priests praising the Lord every day. This celebration highlights God’s grace in accepting imperfect people who seek Him sincerely.
