The False Prophets and Micaiah’s Prophecy
2 Chronicles 18:4–27 forms the movement “The False Prophets and Micaiah’s Prophecy.” Ahab gathered four hundred prophets who assured him of victory, but Jehoshaphat asked for a true prophet of the Lord. Micaiah, though hated by Ahab for prophesying truth, was summoned. Micaiah first mocked Ahab with words of flattery, then revealed the true vision: Israel would be scattered like sheep without a shepherd, and Ahab would die in battle. He also exposed a lying spirit in the mouths of the false prophets, sent as judgment on Ahab.
