Asa’s Reforms and Covenant Renewal
2 Chronicles 15:8–15 forms the movement “Asa’s Reforms and Covenant Renewal.” Encouraged by the prophecy, Asa removed detestable idols from the land and repaired the altar of the Lord before the temple. He assembled the people of Judah, Benjamin, and those from Israel who had come over to him because they saw that the Lord was with him. They entered into a covenant to seek the Lord with all their heart and soul, and they rejoiced greatly with trumpets and shouts. The Lord gave them rest on every side.
