Where this fits in the story: Jesus combines Psalm 110:1 and Daniel 7:13 in the climactic trial statement. The rejected and condemned man claims the position of enthroned Lord and the cloud-coming Son of Man. Human judgment and divine vindication collide in one sentence.

Where Scripture takes it next: the council condemns him and mocks him; Peter simultaneously denies him. In chapter 15 Gentile authorities continue the humiliation, yet royal and Son-of-God language keeps surfacing around the crucified Jesus.

Tradition test: the naked young man in verses 51–52 has often been identified with Mark himself. The Gospel never names him, and no early evidence establishes the identification. It can be discussed as a later proposal, not reported as biography.
