Passage Overview · Free · Psalms 34:14

Come, Children: Learn the Fear of the LORD

The psalm becomes wisdom instruction. A teacher asks who desires life and good days, then answers with disciplined speech, rejection of evil, active goodness, and pursuit of peace. Fear of the LORD takes ethical form.

First Peter 3:10–12 directly quotes this part of Psalm 34 to instruct Christian communities. Peter uses the psalm’s wisdom about speech, good, peace, and the LORD’s watchful care as authoritative guidance for believers under pressure.
