Babylon’s Complete Desolation

Nations are summoned to prepare against Babylon, and the city’s defenses, river crossings, gates, and walls all fail. The language alternates between military preparation and theological interpretation: Babylon repaid Zion with violence, but now heaven and earth are called to rejoice as God brings the destroyers against it. Human labor for imperial glory ends in exhaustion and fire.
