The Two Witnesses: Prophecy, Death, Resurrection, and Vindication
Revelation 11:3–14 presents two witnesses who prophesy in sackcloth, are described as olive trees and lampstands, exercise plague-like authority, are killed by the beast, and are raised and taken up after three and a half days. Their imagery draws from Zechariah as well as Moses- and Elijah-like prophetic patterns. The passage centers faithful witness under persecution and God’s final vindication of His servants.
