The Throne and the Glory of the LORD

Above the creatures is an expanse, then a sapphire-like throne, and above it a human-like figure surrounded by fiery radiance and rainbow brightness. Ezekiel carefully speaks in layered comparisons—“likeness,” “appearance,” and “as”—before naming the vision as the appearance of the glory of the LORD; Revelation later reuses this throne-room vocabulary.
